Yaroslav Dykyi (20) was traded to the Bremerton Sockeyes on Tuesday, with the design of opening up some ice time for current players. The deal was completed Tuesday and in return the Totems will receive “future considerations."
Seattle Totems’ General Manager, Michael Murphy, said the move was made to serve a few team plans. “Yaro was a player who struggled to stay healthy. I think he was getting frustrated with his lack of progress and ability to get into the lineup every night. In sending him to Bremerton, perhaps a change of scenery will get him going. He’s a great kid and we wish him well.”
Totems Head Coach, Mike Butters, was equally appreciative of Dykyi’s efforts. “I feel for Yaro. He had a tough time staying healthy. He battled through a lot. Bremerton needs help and I think it will be a good fit for him."
With their roster down to 21 skaters, fans can likely expect some incoming players to the Green and White in the near future.
