The games with Puget Sound could also hold their playoff fate as the Tomahawks are in a tight battle with Tri Cities for the final playoff spot.
Coach Mike Murphy stated "The team is just starting to play to their potential but we have yet to put our best 20 players on the ice at once due to various injuries on the season. Tonight was a big game for both us and Eugene and to come away with the win in Eugene's building was important, especially without Sam Ballenger, WHL vet Eric English and penalty killing specialist Anthony Patt. While it was nice to get Paulos Shiferaw back in the lineup we are still a bit dinged up but we should be healthy and whole by the time playoffs start. We have been trying to just roll 4 lines and work on the development of our kids. It is hard when you have players that could be running away with the scoring title but they come up short on shifts that they might be getting with other teams. The vets know how important it is to have depth in the lineup if we want to make another run at nationals and they have been willing to sacrifice some playing time to help develop the rookies."
